Early Velvet Dog
An adorably cute early velvet dog likely made by Steiff though no button in ear. We fondly call him Dash, he used to be very fast! Now in his old age he’d like to retire on a shelf in our collection among the dolls & bears. He has tiny black glass eyes, single thread floss for nose and mouth. Darker brown ears and possibly had a collar on his neck at one time but he doesn’t have it now. He sits nicely and still has his skinny tail. A small bit of wear at the edges of his feet though in all, very good condition considering his age is from the early 1900s. Velvet has darkened over time due to playwear, his stuffing is full and he measures 4” tall to top of head. new price $545 see more photos below
