Elmer is a beautiful boy with pale blonde mohair, an early 5 claw teddy by Ideal Toy Company of New York almost 12” tall in wonderful condition for his age, with some “loved” areas worn from play and appears slightly pigeon toed.
He’s very furry in spite of some mohair loss to his face and a few other places. His muzzle has slight wear and floss on nose, mouth & claws look original. He has most of his 5 claws remaining. His eyes are glass, a bit askew with one pushed in. His squeaker no longer works and his joints on his head and left arm don’t turn very much at all. Sometimes the metal joints of these early teds get rusted and stuck in one position. Felt pads have been recovered long ago. His fur is newly fluffed and clean.
This adorably sweet boy is in nice condition and a great size for sitting in a lap or on a shelf. Proud to be American he wears his patriotic antique ribbon pin and handmade early suspendered pants with its elastic straps have given way with age, stretched out a lot so we tucked them into his bottoms.
