A gentle old soul with a fabulous face, beige cream blonde mohair and full of grace. Some expected wear to her fur due to age and Love, she measures just about 8 ½” tall. Being super rare as the smallest size Steiff made with all four pads not to be confused with their pad-less handpad version teddy bear of similar size.
Our Dear Nougat has most of her 4 claws on all pads and is in pretty wonderful condition. Though she’s missing her nose & mouth floss, the outline exists and she seems to beam of wonderment for such a wee morsel. She was made around 1910 -15 with her amber brown glass eyes. Her original felt paw pads have worn and two of them show straw inside. I see no repairing to her other than this and her squeaker no longer works, she displays nicely with working joints.
We’ve fashioned a cape for her which can easily be altered or adapted to someone else as it doesn’t quite fit her as a dress. It’s very worn with hand sewn repairs and a hole in the left front side. This is under the sleeve which we use to adapt the cape giving her a “beauty pin” to hold it together. The cape/dress is an extremely old antique calico fabric in browns and gold with a flouncy ruffle at the hem.
