Lovingly Worn, is our early 1920’s teddy bear from the German toy company Gebrüder Bing. We fondly named her Bernice and she measures around 12” tall.
She is all original and has a sweet face with her long muzzle, back painted amber glass eyes, black floss on her nose has worn a bit as are some of her 5 claws. Her mouth floss has been kissed away but yet she appears to smile. Her pads on her feet are worn with openings showing the straw inside. She has not much of her gold fur left, a few small holes in her muzzle and has remained in “as found” condition with her age old patina though not terribly dirty.
These teddy bears are wonderful with a non-working growler inside most of her belly & chest and this one is a Sentry style made with back legs seams that run down from her thighs to her heels where the pads come to a point, the effect gives the bear’s appearance as if to be standing on tiptoes. She has a wonderful side profile so typical of a Bing teddy and a certain sweetness about them almost child-like as endearing as when she was made.
Bernice wears an early rosebud cotton dress which has yellowed with age and her original copper color bow.
